FOOD HERO says goodbye to Binningerstrasse

It is with great regret that we must inform you that FOOD HERO will close its doors at Binningerstrasse 15 in Basel on 29.04.2026.

After nearly five intense and wonderful years, this chapter comes to an end — not by choice, but because the lease will not be renewed by the landlord. The existing infrastructure, especially the ventilation system, would require major renovation. Due to the associated costs, it was decided not to proceed.

There will no longer be a restaurant at this location.

This decision is very difficult for us. FOOD HERO was much more than just a restaurant — it was a place of creativity, experimentation and a meeting point for many culinary ideas and brands.

Since its creation in 2021 by the La Manufacture team, we offered a unique concept: a diverse online food court with up to nine different cuisines, available on-site or delivered to your home via our own service and platforms such as Uber Eats, Just Eat and Velogourmet.

In recent months, we have done everything possible to find a solution. Unfortunately, we have not yet found a suitable location — but we are not giving up.

Part of our vision continues:

Our guests can continue to enjoy burgers from La Manufacture – available on-site at Gundeli or Klara, as well as for delivery. We have also opened a new chapter with Ghostacos. Our French tacos concept has been available since February at Feldbergstrasse 51 in Kleinbasel.

FOOD HERO is not the end for us — just a pause until we find the right format and location.

From 30.04 to 27.09.2026, some of our brands will continue on the terrace of Viertel Dach — with cocktails and a relaxed summer atmosphere. ☀️
